Resources on School Budgets and Consolidation

Consistent with the mission of the Upstate Institute is the dissemination of knowledge and information concerning issues important to communities in the central New York region. Accordingly, we are pleased to contribute to community discussions concerning the budget challenges facing the public school districts in Hamilton, Morrisville-Eaton and throughout the central New York region. To this end, we are collecting, organizing and sharing published reports, documents and data related to issues of school district consolidation relevant to upstate New York. These resources and materials will be shared through our website. Resources are being collected to provide information and evidence addressing the full spectrum of issues and perspectives on issues relevant to decisions regarding school district consolidation in the region, including process, costs and benefits, and predicted as well as realized outcomes.

The Upstate Institute invites ideas and suggestions about how to augment and deepen these resources. Please contact Ellen Percy Kraly (ekraly@colgate.edu) or Julie Dudrick (jdudrick@colgate.edu).
